Biography and Artist Statement
My Work
Travelling and connecting with people and landscapes is what drives me as a photographer.
I primarily shoot on film for a variety of reasons. Analog film has a certain organic aesthetic and timeless quality. I grew up in the 70s and 80s and fell in love with editorial photography as I consumed a lot of music and culture magazines as a kid. I still carry that vision with me, despite the fact that magazines have lost relevance over time.
As well, film preserves better than hard drives over time. I feel it will be useful to have photographic negatives fifty to a hundred years into the future.
I shoot with a variety of classic cameras, such as Hasseblads V series cameras and lenses, 60s era Nikons, Leicas, as well Pentax 67s and Mamiya RZs.
